September Enews Letter
September 5, 2025
I hope you had a wonderful Labour Day with family and friends. There is no better way to begin September than by spending time with loved ones before returning back to our busy routines.
As the air turns crisper and the leaves begin to change, this month is a wonderful time to embrace the beauty this season has to offer. Whether you’re visiting a local farmers’ market, exploring trails surrounded by vibrant fall colours, or enjoying a harvest festival with family and friends, I hope you find moments to pause and appreciate the simple joys around you. These changes remind us that transitions can be both exciting and rewarding.
September is also a time to reflect on our shared history and the values that unite us. On September 7, we will celebrate Ukrainian Heritage Day, recognizing the vibrant culture, traditions, and contributions of Ukrainian Canadians who have enriched Ontario for generations. Just a few days later, on September 11, we will observe the Provincial Day of Service, honouring the lives lost during the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and paying tribute to the courage and selflessness of first responders and community members who stepped forward in times of need. We close the month on September 25 with Franco-Ontarian Day, a celebration of the language, culture, and heritage of Ontario’s Francophone community, whose influence is deeply woven into the fabric of our province.
I am proud to share that as the 2025/26 school year begins, Ontario is making a record $30.3 billion investment in education to ensure that students have the tools they need to succeed. As part of this commitment, the province is opening 41 new and expanded schools this fall, creating more than 17,700 student spaces and 1,650 licensed child care spaces to support growing communities. This investment is not only about new buildings, but also about preparing Ontario’s two million students for the jobs of tomorrow with a strong focus on core skills like reading, writing, and math. By providing safe, modern learning environments and supporting teachers with the resources they need, our government is helping ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive and build a bright future.
This month, Ontario will also host the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo, an annual tradition that brings together communities from across the province to celebrate our agricultural heritage. It is a showcase of innovation in farming, a gathering place for families, and a reminder of the vital role agriculture plays in our economy and way of life.
In October, I will be hosting a Thanksgiving Open House on Sunday, October 5, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at our community office (7895 Tranmere Drive, Unit 11). It will be an afternoon of good conversation, activities for the kids, and a chance to celebrate the season together as a community. Light refreshments will be served, and all are welcome. As always, my team and I are here to support you. It is a privilege to serve such a vibrant and compassionate community. Please do not hesitate to reach out, as we are just a phone call or visit away.
Wishing you and your family a happy, productive, and fulfilling September.
Warm regards,
Deepak Anand MPP

Investments In Ontario
Updates from Queen’s Park
Making Record Investments in Education
As students across Ontario head back to class, our government is investing a record $30.3 billion in education for the 2025–26 school year. This historic funding will strengthen classrooms, support special education, expand student transportation, and modernize school facilities.
Highlights include $16.5 billion for teachers and classroom staff, $3.9 billion for special education, and $2 billion for school renewal projects. In addition, $1.3 billion is being invested in 45 new schools and expansions, creating over 25,000 student spaces and 1,600 licensed child care spots.
Through the Responsive Education Programs (REP), another $420 million is being directed toward literacy, math, mental health, Indigenous education, and summer learning.
With these record supports and stronger accountability measures, we are ensuring that every dollar directly benefits students and families.

Getting More Homes Built Faster
Ontario is growing quickly, and our government is taking action to make sure communities have the resources they need.
Premier Ford recently announced an additional $1.6 billion investment to help municipalities build the roads, bridges, and water systems that make new housing possible.
This brings the total funding for the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program to almost $4 billion. The program will support projects such as road and bridge upgrades, water systems and agricultural/irrigation projects.

Accelerating the Construction of Long-term Care Homes
Ontario’s population is aging, and our government is taking action to make sure seniors have access to the care they need, close to home. A new Capital Funding Program has been launched to support the construction and upgrading of more than 50,000 long-term care beds across the province.
This investment will ensure care facilities are built faster, smarter, and in the communities where they are needed most. By expanding capacity and upgrading older homes, Ontario is creating a system that is better prepared to meet the needs of seniors today and in the years ahead.
These new and upgraded long-term care spaces will provide comfort, safety, and dignity for residents, while also supporting health care workers and easing pressure on hospitals. Together, we are building a stronger system that puts people first and ensures families can count on high-quality care for their loved ones.
