Skills Training Fund Applications Now Open
The Ontario government has launched the fifth round of the Skills Development Fund (SDF) Training Stream offering up to $260 million. This is the largest funding round since the program’s inception in 2021 and brings total SDF investment to up to $1.4 billion.
This initiative aims to address our province’s labour shortage by connecting job seekers with employers in in-demand sectors like manufacturing, construction, and technology.
Eligible organizations, including employers, training providers, and community organizations, can submit proposals until October 4, 2024.

Seniors Active Living Centres
Ontario’s Seniors Active Living Centre programs have been such a success, that our government is expanding this year’s program funding to keep seniors fit, active, healthy & socially connected!
Grants are now open to municipalities as well as local community-based organizations such as Legion Halls, Lion’s Clubs and other recreational clubs across Ontario!

Regional Development Program

Community Service Order (CSO) 2024-2027
The Community Service Order program provides funding for community-based opportunities allowing clients to complete court-ordered community service work according to their court order.

Critical Minerals Innovation Fund
The Critical Minerals Fund (CMF) provides funding to projects that help strengthen Ontario’s critical mineral sector.
Objectives of the CMF include
- Increasing critical mineral exploration, mining and development.
- Increasing investment in the supply chain of Ontario’s critical minerals.
- Enhancing collaboration between the industry, academia, and research and development projects that are involved in the critical mineral sector.
Eligible recipients can receive up to $500,000 per project to cover eligible costs.
Application deadline: July 17, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. EST.

EnAbling Change Community Accessibility Grant
Eligible organizations can receive between $5,000-150,000 for projects that increase the accessibility of community programs and services, as well as online initiatives, educational tools, and public outreach programs that help communities and businesses understand the benefits of accessibility and inclusion.
This year our government is investing up to $1.5 million to support not-for-profits, municipalities, First Nations communities, and other eligible organizations across Ontario!
Typical projects may involve:
- customized educational tools and resources that directly communicate about accessibility and inclusion with a specific sector
- promoting accessibility in daily living and encouraging regulatory compliance
- public outreach programs and initiatives
Application deadline for 2024-2025 is June 27, 2024

Forest Sector Investment and Innovation Program
The Forest Sector Investment and Innovation Program provides funding for projects within the forest sector that
- Enhances competitiveness.
- Supports emerging market access.
- Supports the Ontario forest sector.
- Strengthens regional economies.

Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) Enhancement Grant
The MCRT grant will provide funding to police services to support the crisis workers on their teams.
The grant aims to
- Support the mental health and addictions system
- Support the ongoing need for additional mental health assistance calls
- Better the local mental health expertise
Deadline: June 19, 2024 at 4:00 pm EST.

Municipal Energy Plan Program
The Municipal Energy Plan Program aims to:
- Reduce energy consumption.
- Reduce greenhouse gases.
- Improve the use of energy for maximized efficiency.

Ontario FireSmart Communities Grant
The Ontario FireSmart Communites Grant is offering funding to municipalities with fireSmart community initiatives. The funding aims to:
- Help municipalities map hazardous forest areas.
- Develop a community wildland fire protection plan including wildland fire risk assessment and wildland fire mitigation.
Deadline: Applications are due by September 30, 2024 at 4:00 pm EDT.

Ontario Learn and Stay Grant
The Ontario government is helping bring more doctors, nurses and healthcare workers to underserved communities through the Learn & Stay Grant.
This grant provides full, upfront funding for students who enroll in eligible programs, and agree to stay in underserved communities to work after graduation.
Postsecondary students who want to pursue a career in nursing, paramedicine or medical lab technology can now apply for 2024-25 academic year funding. Nearly 3,800 learners have already received funding through the grant to help pay for their postsecondary education.

Ontario Trillium Foundation
Our government has announced more than $26 million in grant funding for final round of the Ontario Trillium Foundation – Resilient Communities Fund. This funding will help 251 community-based organizations provide services that are vital in maintaining mental health and well being.
Since its inception in August of 2020 as a way to help non-profits address challenges caused by the pandemic, the Resilient Communities Fund has supported more than 3,000 projects across the province with over $294 million in grant funding!
Starting 2024-25, grant funding will be returning to the stream model:
- Seed Grants -Helping non-profits start new community programming. (Deadline: June 26, 2024)
- Grow Grants – Expanding the reach of existing community programming. (Deadline: November 6, 2024)
- Capital Grant: Improving existing community facilities and spaces. (Deadline: Spring next year)

Ontario Sport Hosting Program 2024-2025
The Ontario Sport Hosting Program provides funding to projects that deliver national and amateur sport events in Ontario.
The program aims to:
- Support sport at every level including provincial, regional, and local.
- Support economic growth by increasing levels of tourism and improved public infrastructure.
Deadline: Monday, July 8, 2024 at 5:00 pm EDT.

Heritage Organization and Development Grant
The Heritage Organization Development Grant is an annual operating grant aimed at boosting public awareness of Ontario’s diverse heritage.
The grant offers financial support to historical societies, museums, and heritage associations across the province to assist with their annual operating expenses.
The grant payments are distributed to recipients operating a year-round or seasonal facility.

Road Safety Community Partnership Program
This program aims to provide support to provincial not-for-profit organizations with road safety mandates.
This program will increase:
- Knowledge of road safety issues.
- Positively impact transportation user behaviour.
- Supporting legislative and regulatory compliance with road safety.

Seniors Active Living Centres Program
The Ontario government is helping more seniors stay fit and active in their community by investing up to $15 million to support Seniors Active Living Centres (SALC) programs across the province.
This program aims to provide a community hub for seniors that are currently living in Ontario.
A call for proposals for organizations to deliver SALC programming will open later this summer. In addition to municipalities, other local and community-based organizations such as Legions, Lion’s Clubs, and other social and recreational clubs are now welcome to apply.

Starter Company Plus Program
The Starter Company Plus program aims to invest and aid entrepreneurs seed, start or grow a business! The Ontario government plans to invest $4.8 million over the next two years to expand the program. The program is for entrepreneurs looking to start, expand, or buy a small business. The program also offers training and mentorship to aspiring entrepreneurs.
