Message From your MPP
Greetings Mississauga-Malton!
As we turn the page to a brand-new year, I want to extend my warmest wishes for a Happy New Year! January marks the opening chapter of a year full of promise, growth, and boundless opportunities. It’s a time to set our goals high, take meaningful action, and come together to strengthen the bonds that make Mississauga-Malton shine.
While we enter 2025, let’s pause to reflect on and celebrate the remarkable milestones and achievements our government accomplished in 2024. We launched plans to refocus education by going back to basics in the classrooms with new provincewide standards, better parent communication, and $17.5M in additional student support. We also committed $4.8M over two years to expand the Starter Company Plus program, helping 500 more entrepreneurs grow their businesses. As part of the Women’s Economic Security Program (WESP), $26.7M will be used to fund 25 local programs across Ontario, while $26M has been invested to build a new training center at LiUNA 183, training 50,000 additional skilled workers.
These achievements were made possible by your trust and support. Our office continues to be here to support you! Whether you need assistance with provincial services, have feedback, or wish to share your concerns, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you to everyone who came out to the Holiday Open House last month. Your support and festive spirit made the event a huge success. We’re grateful for your presence and look forward to creating more memorable moments together at the annual Mississauga-Malton Family Day Paint Night at the Malton Community Centre from 3-5 pm.
Here’s to a New Year sparkling with endless possibilities—let’s make 2025 a year of hope, growth, and unforgettable moments together!
Warm Regards,
Deepak Anand

Ontario’s New Energy Plan
Ontario is increasing its energy plan by 50%, aiming to add up to 7,500 megawatts (MW) of new power to meet rising demand. This includes two parts: up to 14 terawatt-hours (TWh) of new energy and 1,600 MW of new capacity.
This plan focuses on keeping energy affordable, protecting farmland, and supporting partnerships with Indigenous communities. Ontario also plans to look at more options like hydropower, energy storage, and smaller local projects to keep up with future energy needs.

New and Expanded Energy Saving Programs for Homeowners and Businesses
Starting January 28th, our government is making Ontario’s biggest commitment to energy efficiency ever, with a $10.9 billion investment aimed at helping residents and businesses save money while promoting sustainability.
This historic initiative includes over $1 billion in energy-efficiency programs, which will deliver annual electricity savings equivalent to powering 130,000 homes and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by three million tonnes, the same as removing 600,000 vehicles from the road for a year.
