Message From Your MPP
Dear Friends and Neighbours,
I hope you are enjoying a well-deserved summer break and had a safe, fun-filled Canada Day. Whether you’re spending time outdoors camping, fishing, strawberry picking, or simply relaxing with loved ones over a picnic, I hope July brings moments of joy and adventure for you and your family.
As we celebrated Canada Day this year, it was a moment for all of us to pause and reflect on what truly binds us together as Canadians: our shared values, our rich diversity, and the pride we take in calling this incredible country home. It was truly heartwarming to see so many families proudly displaying our office’s Proud Canadian lawn signs! I had an unforgettable time celebrating with all of you at Westwood Square Mall, and it’s always a reminder of how privileged I feel to represent the wonderful community of Mississauga–Malton.
This month, I’m proud to share that our government has released Energy for Generations, the province’s first ever integrated energy plan. It is a comprehensive roadmap to meet future energy needs, support new housing, and power the most competitive economy in the G7. This plan brings together electricity, natural gas, hydrogen and other energy sources under one coordinated strategy to ensure Ontario has the affordable, reliable, and clean energy needed to build a stronger, more resilient province.
July is also a time to celebrate the rich diversity in our communities. This month, we recognize Egyptian Heritage Month, Tibetan Heritage Month, and on July 10, we honour Nikola Tesla, the genius inventor who helped light up Ontario and much of the world. These observances remind us to appreciate the many contributions each culture and individual has made to Ontario’s success.
A special thank you to all the remarkable citizens in our community. This year marks the 6th annual Remarkable Citizens Celebration where we honour those who make a meaningful impact in our lives. If you know someone who deserves to be recognized, we invite you to submit a nomination. Join us in person as we celebrate these local heroes and present each nominee with a congratulatory certificate.
As always, my team and I are here to support you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are just a phone call or visit away.
Wishing you and your family a joyful and safe summer.
Warm regards,
Deepak Anand

Connecting More Ontarians to Primary Care
Our government is committed to ensuring all Ontarians have access to the care they need, where and when they need it.
That’s why we are investing over $230 million to connect 300,000 more people across the province to primary care physicians or medical teams.
This funding will support over 130 new and expanded primary care teams, made up of doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, and other health professionals. These teams will provide faster, more connected care, close to home.
Funding will also support new community-based teaching clinics to train the next generation of care providers, helping to build a stronger, more sustainable system for the future.

Helping Businesses Protect Ontario Jobs
Under the leadership of Premier Doug Ford, our government is delivering on a clear promise: to make Ontario the best place in the world to live, work, and do business.
By cutting unnecessary red tape and modernizing outdated regulations, we’re creating the conditions for businesses to thrive — helping Ontario become the most competitive environment for business among G7 nations.
These efforts are attracting global investment, creating high-quality jobs, and strengthening communities across the province.
Key highlights of our ongoing work include:
- Streamlining regulations to reduce costs for businesses and entrepreneurs
- Making it easier to start, expand, and operate a business in Ontario
- Attracting international investment and securing major job-creating projects
- Supporting homegrown manufacturers and promoting Ontario-made products
These reforms are not just about economic growth — they’re about building a more prosperous future for all Ontarians. By supporting local economies and removing barriers to success, we’re helping businesses large and small reach their full potential.

Supporting Inter-Provincial Free Trade
Canada thrives when provinces work together to support economic growth, protect good jobs, and uphold our shared values of freedom and opportunity. That’s why, under the leadership of Premier Doug Ford, Ontario is taking bold steps to strengthen cooperation with provinces across the country and remove barriers that stand in the way of economic prosperity.
Ontario is proud to be working closely with Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Prince Edward Island to reduce interprovincial trade barriers that limit the free flow of goods, services, and workers. These outdated restrictions drive up costs, slow down job creation, and make it harder for Canadian businesses to grow.
This this collaboration will ensure that together we can build a more competitive, resilient Canada — one where provinces act as partners, not competitors.

Ground has Broken at Mississauga’s Newest Hospital Expansion
Access to high-quality health care is essential for growing communities. That’s why our government is proud to support the historic expansion of Trillium Health Partners’ Peter Gilgan Hospital in Mississauga — a transformative project that will help meet the health care needs of patients and families for generations to come.
With more than $14 billion in provincial investment, construction has officially begun on what will become the largest hospital in Canada. This major redevelopment marks a bold step forward in delivering better, faster, and more accessible care across the region.
Once complete, the new hospital will:
- Triple the current size of the existing Mississauga Hospital
- Add 2,400 new health care workers to support patient care
- Expand surgical and critical care capacity to reduce wait times
- Introduce a new, state-of-the-art 24/7 Emergency Department
This investment is part of our government’s broader commitment to modernizing Ontario’s health care infrastructure and ensuring every patient receives timely, world-class care close to home.

Expanding Ontario’s Education Workforce
Ontario’s students deserve access to a world-class education delivered by the very best educators our province has to offer. To ensure every child receives the support and guidance they need to reach their full potential, our government is making a major investment in teacher training and workforce development.
We’re proud to announce that Ontario is investing over $55 million to support the recruitment and training of 2,600 new teachers by 2027. This initiative will strengthen our education system and help meet the growing demand for qualified educators in classrooms across the province.
Our students are the future of Ontario, and by investing in the people who teach and inspire them, we’re helping to build a province where every child has the opportunity to succeed.
