July E-Newsletter

Message From Your MPP

Greetings Mississauga-Malton,

As a proud Canadian, I am filled with immense gratitude and joy while reflecting on the vibrant Canada Day celebrations from earlier this week. It was wonderful seeing people from all walks of life come together to honour the rich history, culture, and values we hold as Canadians.

July also marks Egyptian and Tibetan Heritage Months and the observation of many significant religious occasions including Muharram, Ashura and Church of Latter-Day Saints Pioneer Day, a true reflection of our beautiful diversity. May these celebrations be filled with joy as we honour their importance.

Our government is making strides to support Ontarians by investing more than $6 million through the Skills Development Fund to train over 1,000 carpenters, introducing Ontario’s first financial literacy graduation requirement to ensure students exit Ontario’s school system with both literacy and practical financial literacy skills and adding 100,000 more MRI and CT scans at community surgical and diagnostic centres across the province each year so Ontarians can conveniently access the care they need sooner, closer to home.

Thank you everyone for joining the Mississauga-Malton Father’s Day celebrations; your invaluable presence made the event a huge success. Here’s to a month filled with memorable moments, delightful discoveries, and the simple joy of summer days.

Best Regards,

Deepak Anand

I am thrilled to see so many families coming together to honour their dads and enjoy a fun-filled day showcasing community spirit. Events like this strengthen our community bonds and highlight the values we share.

The event was well-attended, with active participants throughout the evening. The positive feedback from attendees highlighted the sense of community and enjoyment fostered by the event. One resident said, “As a parent, it was heartwarming to see the community come together to celebrate Father’s Day. My kids had a blast in questioning my knowledge about them and we enjoyed the delicious dinner. It was a memorable day where we strengthened family bonds and created lasting memories.”

Connecting Ontarians to More Consistent, High-Quality Health Care

Our government is introducing new registration systems to help Ontarians feel more confident in the quality of healthcare they receive.

As of December 1, personal support workers will be able to register with the new Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) that will regulate personal support workers (PSWs) and physician assistants (PAs) through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).

These changes will provide better oversight in the health care system, supporting patient confidence and helping PSWs and PAs deliver connected and convenient care across Ontario.

Those registered with the authority will also be listed on an online public register and be easily identified with the HSCPOA’s quality mark on their identification badge or paperwork in order to show employers, patients and their families proof of registration.
