Ontario Bids to Bring Defence and Security Bank to Toronto

Ontario is launching a bid to make Toronto the home of the new Defence, Security and Resilience Bank, a multilateral lending institution designed to support G7 countries.

If successful, this initiative could create up to 3,500 jobs across Canada, while strengthening Canada’s role in global defence, security, and economic resilience. Hosting the bank in Toronto would also reinforce the city’s position as a leading international financial hub.

By pursuing this opportunity, our government is working to attract investment, create high-quality jobs, and ensure Canada plays a strong role in supporting global security and stability.
