Ontario Together Trade Fund

The Ontario government is investing in the future of local businesses through the Ontario Together Trade Fund (OTTF)—a $50 million program designed to support Ontario-based companies as they expand into new markets, enhance productivity, and create new jobs.
As part of our commitment to supporting Ontario businesses, the Ontario Together Trade Fund provides the tools and resources companies need to grow and compete in today’s fast-changing economy. This is about strengthening our local economy, building good jobs, and making Ontario a leader in innovation and trade.
This fund helps businesses make strategic, near-term investments that strengthen their operations, address internal trade barriers, and improve their competitiveness within Canada.
Program Highlights:
- Funding Support: The OTTF offers financial support to businesses investing in equipment, technology, and market expansion efforts that lead to economic growth and job creation in Ontario.
- Focus on Trade and Growth: The fund encourages projects that help Ontario businesses:
- Expand into new domestic markets
- Overcome interprovincial trade barriers
- Boost supply chain resilience
- Increase productivity and innovation
- Eligibility:
- Operate within Ontario
- Have at least three years of operations/financial statements (refer to Operating Experience section in program guidelines to determine financial statement requirements)
- Employ at least 5 full time equivalent (FTE’s) active employees
- Demonstrate any of the following impacts due to the imposition of U.S. tariffs:
- operates in a sector extensively targeted by U.S. tariffs (for example, steel sector, auto sector, aluminum)
- significant exposure to trade risk (for example, revenue loss of 30% or higher), or pivoting operations to supply a customer that is looking to replace a current supplier due to tariffs
- Applicants must demonstrate how their project will benefit Ontario’s economy and workforce.
- Application Process:
- Applications are reviewed for alignment with economic development goals, job creation potential, and feasibility.
