Naloxone Kits Now Required for At-Risk Workplaces.

Our government is committed to saving lives from the current opioid epidemic, which killed more than 2,500 people in Ontario in 2022.

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development is making it mandatory for at-risk workplaces to have life saving Naloxone Kits on site and workers trained on how to use them.

Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can temporarily reverse an opioid overdose, restore breathing within two to five minutes, and allow time for medical help to arrive.

Businesses like construction sites, night clubs and more can now receive free kits & training to increase awareness, and help reduce stigma that prevents people from seeking help.

More than 1,000 of these kits have been distributed to businesses around the province, however businesses may also obtain their own kits.
