New Job Training Programs for Veterans

Our government has announced an investment of $4.3 million through four innovative training programs to help veterans prepare for in demand jobs as they transition to civilian life.

  • Coding for Veterans, in partnership with the University of Ottawa, offers a 100% online, instructor-led, self-paced, flexible program which gives veterans an opportunity to join the tech industry and start a career in software development and cyber security.
  • Helmets to Hardhats supports Veterans, reservists, senior cadets, military family members and Afghan Nationals with an enduring relationship to Canada in finding a meaningful second career in the unionized construction industry by simplifying and expediting the process for Veterans to continue serving their communities, through the skilled trades and apprenticeship opportunities.
  • The Roland Gossage Foundation strives to build productive programs and make a positive impact in the lives of military members and their families through programming and community engagement. They invest heavily in supporting the development of integrated solutions and delivering reliable tools to those who need them most. RGF is bringing awareness to veterans and the struggles they have coming out of the military and beginning civilian life.
  • True Patriot Love Foundation, will help 130 jobseekers land meaningful jobs in healthcare. They will also be partnering with 40 Ontario employers from a variety of sectors to educate and inform them on the benefits of hiring veterans and best practices for reducing barriers to employment.
